thoughts on change...

... our God is constant. Never changing. cannot be swayed by the winds of circumstance.

... we are weak. Ever dependent. and yet somehow ever seeking to "control" our changes.

I was thinking today that it is God's kindness to bring changes into our lives. When life stagnates, my tendency is to become self-reliant, self-confident and self-absorbed. After all, I can control my "world" so I'm in control right?? But God, in his great mercy, purposefully puts us in situations where our need for His constantness is magnified. He allows our cars to break down so we can see that we are dependent on Him to meet our basic needs. He allows our bodies to fall apart so we can know in a very physical way that we are not self-existent
